I'm excited to offer a new experience, a wilderness healing journey which will be held in the woods and wilds of Michigan's Upper Peninsula during high summer, August 1-5, 2024. Our theme will be "healing from climate change". With the current climate crisis we are facing at a collective level, we felt it appropriate to come together and heal from our collective trauma.
Lucas Langstaff and I will be hosting this special retreat designed to cultivate sovereignty. During our time together, we will form direct relationships with nature, create supportive community, skill build in the wilderness, and wild forage and cook for microbiome health. The retreat will culminate with a rite of passage embedded in the indigeneity of the UP (Anishinaabe - Ojibwa). We will include optional daily movement, meditation, and cold plunges as well. Our gathering grounds will be at Clear Lake Education Center on a near private lake amongst a birch grove, with access to all facilities and amenities of the center.

ABOUT
Luke is an aquatic ecologist and wildland firefighter for the US Forest Service in MI, he is our wilderness survival guide and an Ojibwe tribal member. We will have the unique blessing of being hosted on the sacred land of the Anishinaabe (Ojibwe), where we will connect with the roots of this land through traditional knowledge, medicine, and practices carried by the Ojibwe.
It will be my deepest pleasure to hold the container for this gathering through group journey work, art and movement therapy, and wilderness rites of passage.
A guided kayak trip in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Lake Superior will be offered as an optional adventure at the end of the retreat! The trip will be hosted by Anishinaabe Elder and drummer, and expert kayaker, Vinny.
We hope to see you in da UP with us at Wise UP Journeys!
